Boiler Replacement
A Boiler looked after correctly with annual servicing will last around 10-15 years. Other components of your central heating system, such as the pipes, radiators and valves, will last a lot longer, up to 30 years in some cases.
When a Boiler becomes old, inefficient and starts developing issues, one of our engineers can remove it and install a new Boiler in its place.
Your new Boiler will work in conjunction with your existing central heating system.
We can also make upgrades to your central heating system while were there. For instance, install the latest smart controls and radiator valves to enhance the temperature regulation of your home.
New Boiler & Central Heating Installations
If you have an old Boiler and central heating system, you may want the whole lot stripped out and upgraded with an efficient modern space-saving system.
Old central heating systems usually include water tanks, external pumps and a bulky hot water storage cylinder.
We can remove the old system, which will free up a lot of space and install a new combination Boiler that doesn’t require any external components such as a cylinder and water tanks.
Or, if you have substantial hot water requirements, we can install a new system Boiler that includes a sealed, pressurised cylinder for a greater supply of hot water.

Boiler Fuel Types
Most Boilers run on gas. Some properties use electricity, oil or LPG gas. We install them all.
Boiler Size
Household Boilers range in size from around 27kw to 40kw (Kw is the power measurement). The right size must be picked for your home with enough power to serve your hot water and radiators.
As a general rule of thumb
- 24-27 Kw Boilers are fitted in homes with less than 10 radiators
- 28-32 Kw Boilers are fitted in medium-sized dwellings with up to 15 radiators
- 35-40 Kw Boilers are fitted in larger homes with more than 15 radiators
Combination, System & Regular Boilers
Once we have the make, fuel type and Boiler size in mind, we next need to decide whether to fit a Combination, System or a Regular Boiler in your home.
We will likely use the same type of Boiler you already have for straight replacements, but we can make alterations to your central heating system if you want a new kind of Boiler.
Combination Boilers
Combination Boilers, or ‘Combi’ as they are more commonly known, are the most popular type of Boiler installed.
The simplest of all Boilers and installations containing all working parts internally without the need for a hot water cylinder or any other outside components.
The Boiler instantly heats water as soon as a hot water tap or central heating programmer is switched on.
Combi Boilers are the cheapest of all and the easiest to install and service. They take up the least amount of space also.
System Boilers
While combination Boilers are the first choice, they don’t always lend themselves well to larger homes with higher hot water and heating demand.
In these properties, we’ll install a system Boiler that is highly efficient and includes a hot water cylinder, so you always have a substantial hot water supply for multiple bathrooms.
The pressurised cylinder provides better pressure than a combi Boiler and, unlike a regular Boiler, doesn’t require bulky feed tanks.
Regular Boilers
Regular Boiler installations are rare for us nowadays, taking place as replacements in homes with a regular/traditional central heating system.
Regular systems include feed and expansion tanks, a pump and a vented cylinder to store hot water. The system is complex and works off gravity, and has been primarily replaced by modern combination and system boiler in the past couple of decades.
Regular Boilers are, however, very good at supplying big homes with many bathrooms and radiators.
